PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

Wayne County Joint Comprehensive Plan
“Once and Future Frontier”

The local governments of Wayne County and the municipalities of Jesup, Odum, and Screven are in the process of finalizing a new joint comprehensive plan in accordance with state law.

The comprehensive plan is titled “Once and Future Frontier” to generate interest and enthusiasm, and to summarize its aspirations. The plan outlines a community vision, identifies needs and opportunities, and delineates long term policies and a community work program to provide a guide and blueprint for future growth and development within the community. The plan is in draft finalization before submittal to the state for review.

The purpose of the hearing is to brief the community on the content and strategies outlined in the draft comprehensive plan, to address the issues and opportunities facing Wayne County and all its municipalities, obtain any final citizen input, and notify the community of the pending submittal of the comprehensive plan for state and regional review.

PUBLIC HEARING DATE AND TIME: Monday, August 24, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
