Overview

Wayne County, Georgia is seeking sealed bids from qualified, licensed contractors to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the installation of a complete septic system to serve the new Wayne County Transit Center. The project includes installation of a septic tank, drain field lines, and all associated work in accordance with applicable State and County regulations.

SCOPE OF WORK

The successful bidder shall provide a turnkey installation of the septic system meeting or exceeding the following minimum requirements:

1 Septic Tank

  • Minimum 1,000-gallon septic tank.
  • Must be Georgia Department of Public Health approved.
  • Concrete or high-quality poly tank accepted, provided it meets state standards.

2 Drain Field

  • Three (3) drain field lines, each 50 feet in length (minimum).
  • Installation must comply with soil conditions, setbacks, and Environmental Health Department requirements.

3 Additional Requirements

  • Provide all connections from the building to the septic tank.
  • Provide all fittings, tees, distribution box (if required), gravel/trench materials, and backfill.
  • Ensure proper grading, compaction, and site restoration.
  • Coordinate with Wayne County staff for inspection scheduling.
  • Any permits or inspections required by the Georgia Department of Public Health must be included in the bid.

CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS

Bidders must:

  • Hold all appropriate State of Georgia licenses for septic system installation.
  • Have verifiable experience installing septic systems of similar scope.
  • Maintain adequate liability and workers’ compensation insurance.

Contractors may be asked to provide references upon request.

BID SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All submitted bids must include the following:

  1. Total project cost (labor, materials, permits, inspections, and any contingency costs).
  2. Estimated project timeline, including start and completion dates.
  3. Description of materials, including tank type and manufacturer.
  4. Proof of contractor licensing and insurance.
  5. Any exceptions or deviations from the specifications (if any).

Bids must be sealed and clearly labeled:

5. BID DELIVERY LOCATION

Bids received after the deadline will not be considered.

6. SELECTION PROCESS

Wayne County reserves the right to:

  • Accept or reject any or all bids.
  • Waive minor irregularities.
  • Award the bid that is in the best interest of the County, considering price, experience, materials, and schedule.

This RFB does not commit Wayne County to award a contract or to pay any costs incurred in preparation of a bid.
