The primary responsibility of the Board of Elections office is to process voter applications, maintain voter records for Wayne County, and oversee elections, including those for the municipality of Jesup, Odum, and Screven, Georgia.
The office also manages all absentee ballot applications and distribution. Absentee ballots are issued exclusively by the Board of Elections office. Voters may request an absentee ballot for themselves without providing a reason if the application is submitted by mail.
Early voting is available to all registered voters in person at the Board of Elections office for three weeks leading up to any election.
Please note that, as of September 2007, a valid photo ID is required to vote in Georgia.
