Press Release- Aging Advisory Committee
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wayne County Board of Commissioners is seeking two individuals to serve on the Heart of Georgia Altamaha Regional Commission's Aging Advisory Committee. At least one of these individuals should be sixty years of age or older. Members are comprised of older individuals (including minority individuals) who are participants or who are eligible to participate in programs, representatives of older individuals, local elected officials, providers of veterans' health care, and the public. This committee meets for approximately two hours four times per year for a total of eight hours commitment at Little Ocmulgee State Park in Helena to discuss issues of importance to seniors and to assist the Area Agency on Aging in determining what services should be provided to older adults and their caregivers in our county. Individuals willing to serve will be reimbursed for their mileage to attend the quarterly meetings and lunch will be provided.
