NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

INVITATION FOR BIDS

Wayne County Board of Commissioners is accepting sealed bids for the:

2026 LMIG Culvert Lining & Replacement Contract

Sealed bids will be received at the Wayne County Administrator’s Office, located at 341 East Walnut Street, Jesup, Georgia 31546, until:

10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026

At that time, bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The contract award will be considered at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Wayne County Board of Commissioners.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The work to be performed under this contract includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and incidentals necessary to complete the following:

  • Line:
    • Two (2) 24-inch reinforced concrete pipes (RCP)
    • One (1) 36-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP)
  • Install:
    • Sixteen (16) linear feet of 24-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP)
  • Remove and replace:
    • A double row of 48-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP)
    • Approximately 0.019 miles of county roadway associated with the pipe replacement

All work shall be completed in accordance with the latest edition of the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Standard Specifications.

Contractors submitting bids must be approved GDOT contractors.

BID SECURITY AND BONDING REQUIREMENTS

Each bid must be accompanied by either:

  • a certified check, or
  • a bid bond

in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid amount.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish:

  • a Performance Bond, and
  • a Payment Bond

each in the amount of 100% of the contract price.

A letter from the bidder’s bonding company must accompany the bid bond stating that the bidder is capable of obtaining the required Performance and Payment Bonds within ten (10) days of contract award.

The apparent low bidder must provide proof of current GDOT Contractor Certification prior to execution of the contract.

RIGHTS RESERVED

The Wayne County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities and technicalities, and award the contract in the best interest of the County.
